The resolution of the plasma television is one of the most important factors of the plasma screens specification, the resolution basically states the amount of pixels that make up the plasma screen. The higher the number the more pixels the plasma television will have and therefore the more detail it will be able to display, this will result in a sharper and better quality picture on the plasma screen.
The resolution of the plasma screen is stated like 1366x768, television screens have a number of horizontal lines and the second number refers to the amount of lines that the resolution offers. The first number is the amount of pixels that each line contains so a resolution of 1366x768 is made up of 1366 lines with 768 pixels on each line.
So when buying a plasma screen it is a good idea to look out for screens with a high resolution as this will give a better quality of picture, the picture will be sharper and better quality and will give more enjoyment when watched. Please remember though that the resolution is not the only factor in a plasma television's quality, there are also other factors such as the contrast ratio and the brightness which also affect the quality of the plasma screen.
